Environmental Conservation
Safeguarding Scattery Island
We believe that safeguarding Scattery Island’s natural environment is just as important as preserving its cultural legacy. Our team actively supports local conservation projects aimed at protecting marine life, bird habitats, and native plant species. Visitors are encouraged to follow “Leave No Trace” principles—disposing of waste responsibly, sticking to marked paths, and respecting wildlife. We also reduce our carbon footprint by employing fuel-efficient boat operations. We are exciting to be working on a project to electrify the ferry to Scattery Island, which will make it the only one of its kind in Ireland once completed and eliminating carbon emissions.
